Abstract
This article presents the role of Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms in information management within construction projects and discusses their significance in supporting Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes. The study is based on a review of scientific literature, industry publications, and international standards, with particular emphasis on the ISO 19650 series. The paper examines the principles of information management in a CDE environment, including document control, information exchange, version management, and collaboration among project stakeholders.
The analysis indicates that the implementation of CDE platforms improves the quality and accessibility of project information, enhances transparency of project activities, and reduces the risk of errors resulting from outdated or inconsistent data. Furthermore, CDE facilitates coordination among project participants and supports the standardization of information workflows throughout the lifecycle of a construction asset. The findings confirm that CDE has become an essential component of digital construction management and will continue to play a significant role in the further development of BIM-based project delivery.
