At Safety Engineering of Anthropogenic Objects (Inżynieria Bezpieczeństwa Obiektów Antropogenicznych) we strongly believe in complete transparency of the editorial process. The whole workflow is depicted in the graph at the bottom. The authors are kept informed about the actual status of their manuscript at every stage of the process.
Once the paper is submitted, it is checked whether is meets the journal’s editorial criteria. If is does, it is sent to the Editor-In-Chief for merit evaluation. If needed, the Editor-In-Chief consults with an appropriate Managing Editor regarding the subject-matter and quality the manuscript. At this point, it is checked against the journal’s formal criteria. If it meets them, it is sent to two reviewers. The process is based on the peer-review double-blind procedure. If the both reviews are positive, the manuscript is sent back to the authors for correction; if two of them are negative, the paper is rejected, and in the case of one positive and one negative review, it is sent to a third reviewer, whose opinion is decisive. When accepted by reviewers, the paper should be corrected in accordance with their suggestions, if there are any. Then, the manuscript undergoes a proofreading carried out by the professional English language proofreader. When the language corrections are accepted by the authors the paper is published on the journal’s webpage in the Online First section. Full issues are published four time per a year, in March, June, September and December.
The editorial processing begins no later than 90 days after the submission. The reviewers, once they accept the task, have 14 days to complete the revision. The authors have 14 days to correct their manuscript according to the reviewers’ suggestions.
The authors, if they find the Editorial Team’s decisions erroneous, biased, or not just, have the possibility to issue a complaint. The complaint procedure is described in detail in the Code of Ethics section.
